A Passionate Career, Creating Success, Emotional Freedom, Law of Attraction
Just wanted to share a very cool video on how a negative script that you might’ve been playing in your mind can be reversed!!
I first saw it on the Joyful Days blog, “How does your life script read?”
What do you think of this video? (Remember to leave me feedback so I know what to post more of!)
I was quite depressed by the forward version of it. Goes to show what your own limiting beliefs can do to you!
I decided to make a little ditty of my own:
When you get criticized
Stop Creating
And don’t
Keep Trying
When others disapprove
Let go of your personal power
And don’t
Continue manifesting your Dreams
I definitely feel better about the backwards version of it:
Continue manifesting your Dreams
And don’t
Let go of your personal power
When others disapprove
Keep trying
And don’t
Stop creating
When you get Criticized
If you come up with your own negative-to-positive script, please share it with us in the “Leave a Reply” box!

Hi Carlota,
Thanks for the link love! Glad you liked the video and decided to do your own script. I love your version!
I also love the title of your blog. So many of us need to do exactly that – sqoosh (I even love the sound of this word) our inner critic.
I’m looking forward to reading more posts on sqooshing!

@Daphne,
It was my pleasure–thank you for encouraging us to write our own…I hadn’t written poetry in years! Your article was just the inspiration I needed
Thank you for the compliment about my Blog! (It came at the right time as I was going thru a bout of “domain name envy” Ha ha! The power of synchronicity still amazes me…
Hi Carlota! That video of going from negative back to positve was awesome! It just proves that it is all about your perception of life and not what others perceive it for you.
I learned this when I was a child. I was constantly made fun of. People made fun of my clothes, my height and just called me names. I was bullied by several female classmates. My mother came up to the school and shook those girls off of me because the principal didn’t do anything. It worked.
I was taught at a young age to not worry so much about what people say about you. Although words do hurt and I was saddened by the comments from my peers, I enjoyed school; learning new things and doing homework, and playing were great. I knew deep inside of me that I was someone special and that I was going to do great things in my future. That’s what kept me going, always hoping for a better tomorrow.
Since I have conditioned myself not to worry so much about what others think about me, I still remain critical of myself and find ways to make improvements on myself. At the same time, I am happy that I am not like my mother who is always conscientious of what people are saying about her. Driving the newest cars was most important to her which kept her in debt and as a result had contributed to her financial demise in her old age.
These are great posts Carlota. Keep up the good work. I know they will help lots of people.

@Balyn,
Welcome to my Blog!
Perception definitely holds more power than we give it credit for. And there is much freedom for those who know it and shape it into working for them rather than against them.
Thank you for sharing your personal experience with us, and I value the vulnerability in sharing such a story. You are a STRONG independent woman! When I was growing up, I bought into my insecurity of being different and couldn’t decide which person I wanted to be: unique and beat my own drum or “fit in” and beat on someone else’s drum.
Seeking approval from others can be a huge energy, time, and creativity drain. Not to mention expensive, in your mother’s case. We try to seek it externally when the person we need validation and approval the most from, is ourselves. And that’s an inside job!
Self-criticism is a merciless beast, isn’t it? Bottling it up gives it even more power to grow larger. Please be gentle with yourself–you may find peace in purging out your criticisms onto paper (or any other releasing method works for you) and then writing down 5 things you appreciate of yourself today. (Something so simple can work miracles!)
I’m glad you have enjoyed the articles and YES! I DO have a millionaire mind! I pulled Secrets of a Millionaire Mind off my bookshelf right after reading your comment–It was a great time to affirm it! And repetition changes perception, thank you for including the reminder!!
I can’t believe that is an AARP commercial! WOW! Whom ever came up with that concept was awesome!
Our perceptions of reality really do dictate how we live our lives. I try to keep an open mind and see life from all different views. Sometimes are harder than others especially when it comes to looking at myself. I know I am my own worst critic and changing my mind about myself and my own situations is the way I will experience a happier life.
I think I will try one of these affirmations for myself and see how it will work in my life.
Thanks for sharing!
@Alina,
Seriously! Here’s some info on how it came about: http://www.youtube.com/Uat50
The interesting thing about “perception” is that a lot of it comes from messages we unconsciously absorb…and that we had no idea the large role it has in our daily living.
Looking at yourself with honesty takes enormous courage! Be proud of yourself for being willing to do so, it is enough to create big changes
.
I once had a mentor who said that “growing up” is not about acquiring more knowledge, it’s more about “letting go” of limiting perceptions…like peeling back the layers of an onion to find the core essence of who you really are.
Thanx for your comment, and happy sqooshing!
Hi Carlota
