Writing Your First Blog Post: How to Stop Piddling Around and Hit the Publish Button Already!
Limiting Belief: I’m afraid I can’t get my 1st blog post right.
Playback Affirmation:
Even though I’m afraid I won’t get my 1st blog post right, I deeply and completely accept myself. And I am willing to plug into the Divine Creator and trust that I am guided in everything that I write.

Today marks the 1st day of this Blog. Wow. I have finally arrived.
You wouldn’t believe (okay, maybe you can…after all something about the situation you’re in or were in has attracted you to this Blog today) what I had to go through in order to finally talk myself into showing up to start this Blog…and, if everything goes as planned (heh heh, a common falter of those who have inner critics of monstrous proportions is the inability to follow through on Creation)…I will PUBLISH IT!
And for some people, writing that first blog post is easy. They just click away at the keyboard and start writing. But I’m one of those recovering perfectionist types who by definition doesn’t ever think anything I do is perfect enough. You might have a similar thought process: “The first blog post sets the tone for the rest of the Blog. It has to be perfect. What if I may never get it just right? What if people find my Blog and read this first post and find me so boring that they never come back? What if they look at my writing and decide that I’m a bad writer…and then I gain the reputation for being a bad writer? How will I ever become successful then? Who am I kidding…I want to write a popular blog but I can’t even commit to a first post! I might as well quit while I’m ahead. Or at least wait until next year. Maybe I will be a different person then and be more prepared and qualified to write this sort of Blog…”
I’m not sure about you, but my Inner Critic took over just about every single square inch of real estate in my body.
I had to sqoosh her down just enough to write this blog post.
But the more important question is: How did I do that ?
I did a lot of things. (Now please don’t get overwhelmed just yet…
And I received a lot of help from the many generous Mentors I have (writers, artists, healers, life coaches, film makers) who have written books, recorded audios, filmed movies, invented healing techniques, and guided healing sessions that I will share with you on this Blog. And with this, I will also promise to be as honest as I can (even when I feel like hiding from the World!) in sharing my day-to-day journey with you, including some uncomfortable experiences where growth was or is still needed (but never required).
So this is what I envision for this Blog:
I thought I’d kick off each blog post with a Limited Belief I either once had or am still working on sqooshing…and rewrite it to playback as a powerful limitation-busting Affirmation…one that actually works! And if it isn’t working for me, I’ll let you know and swap it out.
And then I’ll get into some of the ways I am conquering the Limited Belief…and this will sometimes mean pointing you to a resource that I found helpful for sqooshing out that inner critic of mine. But first, I’d like to be honest with you: Every time you click on a link and buy the resource I mention, I will be making a modest profit.
And even though the decision is always yours to either buy the product from my links or pull up the original site where it’s being sold, I do hope that you can help me make that commission…because after all, an aspiring Writer has to eat! ![]()
But even though I do make commissions from links on this Blog, I promise to only mention resources that I genuinely find to be of any help at all in sqooshing down that Inner Critic so you can move forward to create the Success of Your Dreams.
Now that we’ve gotten that over with, I’d like to share a brief History of my Life that led up to this Blog.
