I read an interesting article from Steve Pavlina today, called Overcoming Indecision. Pavlina describes the traditional "decision-making process" that many of us fall into and why it's ineffective. He suggests an alternative decision-making approach, one that focuses on "The Power of Now". While reading his article…
"Think positive," someone says to you when your Inner Critic seems to be the only voice you hear in your head. But what happens when these suggested affirmations don't apply to the situation you're in? Positive thoughts take practice and when you're suddenly in a jam and caught off guard when receiving some "bad news"…
In the 1st part of How to Write New Year's Resolutions That Work, I outlined writing different, more powerful Resolutions for manifesting your desires. As promised, here’s a few guidelines to keep in mind while writing your new powerful Resolutions: 1. Write resolutions that don't have a time limit. As we approach the New Year, we also look back in 2008 and feel proud of what we accomplished or beat ourselves up for not following through with our Resolutions. The problem with traditional New Year's Resolutions is that they hardly ever work in your favor. Here's a better way to approach writing what you want to have, be, and do for 2009...

Do I mean that I had never heard such a thing as "thoughts become words, words become things"? No, this isn't the first time. However, after watching this movie, for the first time in years I began to "recover a sense of possibility"...But, I soon discovered it wasn't as easy for me to just "turn the other cheek" away from self-doubt and look only towards creating the Writing Career of my Dreams...
The other day one of my best friends (who I met back in College) and I were discussing why it is that I had this habit of abandoning many diverse and seemingly random projects/careers...and yet the projects that I most resonated with were the ones I subconsciously kept blocking myself from taking action on. Here's her exact words:
"I feel like you are always trying to force yourself into these roles that don't quite explain who you are - and then that's when you quit your projects."
I think she may be onto something. So I'd like to spend some time exploring this observation she made...
